Matthew Koslow, PhD
Dr. Matthew Koslow is a molecular and cellular biologist with experience spanning oncology, drug discovery, molecular biology, translational research, and preclinical development. He brings a multidisciplinary scientific background to OncoFirm™ Diagnostics, with particular expertise in cancer biology, cell-based research, molecular characterization, and the evaluation of emerging therapeutic and diagnostic targets.
Dr. Koslow previously served as a Drug Discovery Scientist and Manager at Evergreen Theragnostics, where he led in vitro research across multiple cancer cell lines to support preclinical drug development. His work included evaluating targeted therapies, analyzing drug viability and biological response, applying molecular biology and pharmacokinetic approaches, and maintaining research activities in accordance with GMP and GLP standards. He also trained laboratory personnel on experimental protocols, SOPs, and quality practices while collaborating across academic and industry research teams.
At Mayo Clinic, Dr. Koslow completed postdoctoral research focused on molecular mechanisms underlying disease. His oncology research investigated the role of HP1α in colon cancer metastasis and included the generation of engineered cell lines for metastatic cancer studies. In a separate Mayo Clinic fellowship, he used molecular biology, genomic analysis, PCR, qPCR, Western blotting, and CRISPR-based techniques to investigate novel therapeutic targets associated with inherited cardiomyopathy and other disease models.
Dr. Koslow earned his PhD in Cell Biology from the University at Albany and his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Syracuse University. His technical expertise includes cell culture, CRISPR, molecular biology, genomics, flow cytometry, histology, HPLC, aseptic techniques, and data analysis, along with experience working under GMP, GLP, FDA, OSHA, and IACUC regulatory frameworks.
He is also an author of peer-reviewed scientific publications covering molecular biology, transcriptomics, stem-cell-related research, and disease mechanisms. In addition, Dr. Koslow co-developed a patent application involving a method for detecting small cell lung cancer, further reflecting his experience at the intersection of cancer research, biomarkers, and translational innovation.
At OncoFirm™, Dr. Koslow’s background in oncology, molecular biology, cancer-model development, and translational research supports the company’s efforts to advance next-generation biomarker-based diagnostic technologies and strengthen the scientific foundation of its developing cancer diagnostic platforms.
